what is it like to be completely and utterly alone? i thought i'd known. but before tonight, i hadn't.

i was in the sky. (on an I-35 ramp)
i was the only person - the only existence - i could see or hear.

i slowed my car down and i eased across the ramp savoring the brief moment.

fog surrounded me. i was in a cloud. i couldn't see more than 30 ft in any direction. my headlights and one large street light gave me vision in my empty world.

i was completely and entirely alone.

i wanted to stay there in the pale orange cloud but moving at 10 mph i'm sure i was a hazard. so i came back down to roam the real world constantly bustling with people and their noises and lights.
